Patrick

Patrick is a mixed animal vet and Veterinary partner with Barry O’Connell at Flynn & O’ Connell Veterinary surgeons. Patrick previously worked as a fitter, teacher and engineer. Patrick qualified as a vet in 1992. He worked in a dairy practice in Somerset and small animal practice in Petersborough & the PDSA in London. Patrick has 2 dogs of his own at home.

Barry

Barry works in mixed animal practice and is also Veterinary partner with Patrick Flynn at Flynn & O’Connell Veterinary surgeons. He is practicing since 1995. He has 2 dogs at home and also has a keen interest in all things GAA.

Rachel

Rachel

Rachel joined the team at Flynn & O’ Connell Veterinary surgeons in August 2022. She has been working in mixed animal practice in Donegal, Cavan and Meath since qualifying in 1993 from UCD. She is joined on her calls by her assistant ‘’Bones’’, she also has a cat, 2 goats and 6 sheep at home. Rachel enjoys running and hiking in her spare time.

Rachel joined the team at Flynn & O’ Connell Veterinary surgeons in August 2022. She has been working in mixed animal practice in Donegal, Cavan and Meath since qualifying in 1993 from UCD. Enda

Enda Finnerty qualified from UCD in 1989. After 4 years of mixed practice divided between Tipperary and Wales, Enda returned to practice in his hometown of Mullingar for the last 31 years. Enda will concentrate on small animals here in Oldcastle. Enda is married to Mary with 3 grown up kids. His interests include golf, music and following Westmeath GAA.

Iona

Iona

Iona is a Veterinary nurse and has worked in small and mixed practice in Derry, Cavan and Meath since graduating from Letterkenny IT in 2011. She joined Flynn & O’Connell Veterinary surgeons in September 2022. She also worked as a chef before working permanently as a Veterinary Nurse. Iona has a keen interest in surfing, gym, music and is studying marine biology part time. She has 3 dogs and a rabbit at home.

Margaret

Margaret studied agriculture and veterinary science as a career and started working at Flynn & O’connell veterinary surgeons in 1996. Presently her role in the practice is administration of Tasah & Vramp investigations, blood sample administration, she also gives advice on anthelmintics and animal remedies. She grew up on dairy and sheep farm and loved animals as a child. To this day, Margaret still dairy farms. She enjoys reading and walking in her spare time (when she seldom gets it!)

Shannon is stock manager and has worked in the veterinary industry from 2018. She joined Flynn & O’ Connell Veterinary surgeons in March of 2018. Shannon is currently studying for the Green Cert in Ballyhaise agricultural college. Shannon comes from a Dairy farm and has 3 dogs and 2 cats at home. Shannon plans to study Veterinary business management in 2023.
